The USAID Rule of Law Program continues its series of public lectures for the law students of Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University.
On April 10, 2023, the students had the privilege of meeting Judge Teimuraz Tughushi, a member of the Constitutional Court of Georgia, who delivered a speech on "Introduction to the Constitutional Justice System in Georgia: Important Aspects of Constitutional Adjudication."
During his presentation, Judge Tughushi emphasized the institutional features of the Constitutional Court of Georgia and its role in protecting fundamental rights and freedoms. He highlighted several decisions made by the Constitutional Court regarding the right to equality and freedom of expression and also discussed the impact of the Constitutional Court's decisions. Following the lecture, students participated in a Q&A session and group discussion.
This event was organized under the Rule of Law Program’s Batumi Rule of Law Hub initiative to promote informative meetings between local judicial representatives and students on significant legal topics.
