The East-West Management Institute, Inc. is seeking a Regional Hub Attorney (to be based in Akhaltsikhe) to assist in implementing the USAID Rule of Law Program’s activities in the Samtskhe–Javakheti region.
One of the primary purposes of the USAID Rule of Law Program is to help establish an independent, accountable, well-functioning and people-centered justice system in Georgia. One of the planned activities is to establish a Rule of Law (ROL) Hub in Akhaltsikhe, the purpose of which is to improve the delivery of justice in the Samtskhe-Javakheti region by developing linkages among various justice sector providers and organizations in the region, including the courts of general jurisdiction, the Legal Aid Service (LAS), law faculties, CSOs, representatives of law enforcement bodies, and the private sector. In 2022, two Rule of Law Hubs were established: in Batumi (Adjara) and Kutaisi (Imereti).
The Regional Hub Attorney will be charged with establishing the ROL Hub in Akhaltsikhe, developing programming activities in support of improving justice sector delivery in Akhaltsikhe and Samtskhe-Javakheti region, supporting visiting U.S. judges and other experts, and fomenting linkages between the representative offices in the locality and their counterparts in Tbilisi.
