On June 17-18, the USAID Rule of Law Program’s Kutaisi Rule of Law Hub held a training that helped 22 lawyers specializing in civil and administrative law strengthen their skills in the field of construction law. This training followed the successful construction law sessions held as part of a Rule of Law Program Batumi Hub initiative in May, where 56 members of the Georgian Bar Association (GBA) received practical insights on construction-related matters.
The sessions were led by Shota Getsadze, former judge of Tbilisi Court of Appeals, with 15 years of expertise in handling complex cases.
Throughout the training, participants engaged in discussions on various practical issues that could pose challenges in the field. These topics included the actions of administrative bodies, securing claims in construction disputes, reversal of collateral, damages caused by unjustified provisions, construction violations, involvement of third parties in the process, recognition of ownership rights to land plots, and matters pertaining to the public registry.
By addressing these specific issues, the Rule of Law Program equips participants with the necessary knowledge and skills to navigate complexities that arise in practice. Such initiatives contribute to the overall improvement of legal services and promotes the rule of law within the construction sector.
