On March 11, 2024, two of Georgia’s leading lawyers, Zviad Kordzadze and Nino Bogveradze, announced the release of a new textbook designed to equip students and young professionals with skills in contract drafting. The USAID Rule of Law Program sponsored the book’s creation.
During the release event, attended by approximately 80 judges, lawyers, professors, students, and NGO representatives, the authors provided insights into the creation process and offered an overview of the textbook's content. They explained the book covers important aspects of contract drafting, like gathering necessary information, understanding the parties' positions, and writing clear and precise provisions. It also includes practical exercises to help readers learn how to draft contracts for different situations.
Giorgi Chkheidze, USAID Rule of Law Program Chief of Party, addressed the audience, expressing the Program’s support to legal education in Georgia, emphasizing the significance of the textbook within the legal landscape.
In his comments to the group, Zviad Kordzadze talked about how the book would improve students’ skills and enhance the quality of legal documentation produced by lawyers in Georgia. Zaza Rukhadze, the Law Dean of Georgian American University, addressed the assembled group and explained how the book would help improve the legal skills of not only his law students, but also future generations of legal professionals.
