On January 26-28, 2024, the New Vision University Practical Skills Center, with the support of the USAID Rule of Law Program, conducted a Training of Trainers (TOT) session at Akaki Tsereteli State University in Kutaisi.
This TOT initiative enhanced the teaching of practical skills within law schools in Kutaisi. Facilitated by a team of experts from NVU's Practical Skills Center, comprised of Sopho Chachava, Tamar Khatiashvili, Ana Loria, Natalia Akhaladze, and Davit Kikaleishvili, the training shared a syllabus for practical skills learning developed as part of the project.
The training team provided instructional materials to aid in teaching legal research and writing, client interviewing, negotiation, mediation, procedural skills, and professional ethics to undergraduate students.
The workshop enabled participants to learn about effective teaching methodologies and explore how practical skills instruction could be integrated into the curriculum. Twenty-three law professors and guest lecturers from various universities attended the event.
