Students Visit Samtredia Regional Court

With USAID Rule of Law Program support, the Imereti-based media organization Kutaisi Post organized an educational visit for school children to Samtredia Regional Court.

On November 18, 2023, about 30 students of the #3 public school of Samtredia visited the courtrooms and got acquainted with the fundamentals of the court's work and the history of the courthouse. Ketevan Meishvili, Secretary of Samtredia District Court hosted the tour.

Venera Odilavadze, Principal of the school, thanked the organizers of the event and emphasized the importance of the court tours in helping students choose their career paths: “I appreciate the opportunity given to students to visit the court,” she said. “I think that after this day school children will be more motivated and some of them will connect their future to this field.”

Students noted that the tour turned out to be fun as well as educational. Saba Manjgaladze, a student from the 3rd public school, commented, "I had a great desire and motivation to visit the courtrooms. To some extent, my future profession is also related to law, and that's why I was interested in what happens in court."

The educational tour was organized as part of USAID Rule of Law Program’s awareness-raising project, which seeks to strengthen community engagement with justice sector organizations by facilitating study tours for school students.
