On November 25-26, 2023, Akaki Tsereteli State University, with the USAID Rule of Law Program support hosted a two-day training course titled "Case Compilation and Solution Methodology."
Twenty lecturers from Kutaisi, Batumi, Zugdidi, and Akhaltsikhe state universities gained valuable insights into the methodology of teaching with case studies and its practical implementation.
The participants benefited from an engaging and interactive sessions led by Giorgi Rusiashvili, an associate professor at Javakhishvili State University. They received information on topics such as solving civil law cases, techniques for creating alternative case scenarios, processing legal problems, checking requirements when solving a case, and integrating legal problems into a cohesive narrative.
Reflecting on the course, Maia Tskitishvili, an assistant professor at Akaki Tsereteli State University, expressed her satisfaction, stating, "This training course was one of the best I have ever attended. Students often interpret cases differently, so developing their practical skills and providing relevant knowledge in a comprehensible language is essential. Participating in such training enables professors to delve into case studies, share diverse approaches, contextualize problematic cases, and engage in collaborative discussions with students. I am eager to actively implement the knowledge gained in practical part of the lecture."
Khatuna Muradishvili, a guest lecturer at Shota Rustaveli State University of Batumi, found the segment of the program training course on entrepreneurial law particularly beneficial. "The trainer conducted in-depth discussions on case study fables, employing a comparative analysis of the Georgian Civil Code and the German Civil Code. This will make solving case studies more attractive for students, achieving the maximum level of knowledge." she commented.
The second stage of training is scheduled for December 2023.
