Between May 1 and 3, 2024, a group of 13 female football players from Tbilisi and Kutaisi were actively involved in a comprehensive three-day Integrated Security Workshop.
This workshop, supported by the USAID Rule of Law Program, aimed to equip them with essential knowledge and tools to effectively address instances of sexual harassment and violence. Offering a safe and supportive environment, the workshop facilitated engaging discussions and exercises centered on gender dynamics, power structures, and personal growth.
The trainers Sopio Basiladze and Nino Kharchilava utilized various interactive methods to introduce the concept of the Integrated Security Workshop. Activities such as the discussions on power from a feminist perspective, and analytical exercises focused on power dynamics were employed. Participants immersed themselves in conversations concerning women's rights and harassment, drawing from their own experiences and contemplating future directions.
Bioenergetics exercises aimed at enhancing body awareness were incorporated into the workshop’s program, leading to a session dedicated to embracing self-care practices.
Throughout the duration of the workshop, attendees actively exchanged ideas, shared personal experiences, and explored strategies for individual and collective empowerment.
