Mariam Gaiparashvili has over 10 years of experience in the area of human rights.

Her professional journey commenced at the Equality Department of the Public Defender’s Office, after which she assumed the role of Head of the Legal and Human Rights Division at the Parliamentary Research Center. Additionally, she contributed her expertise to the Personal Data Protection Service.

Mariam has significantly enriched her portfolio by undertaking numerous consultancy projects focused on human rights and legal policy, collaborating with a number of international organizations, including the East-West Management Institute (under the Promoting Rule of Law in Georgia PROLoG Activity), United Nations Development Programme, and the Council of Europe in Georgia.

Since 2017, Mariam has held the position of a visiting lecturer at Tbilisi State University, where she imparts her knowledge and experience to aspiring legal minds.

Mariam is an accomplished scholar, having earned both her bachelor's and master's degrees in law from Tbilisi State University. She further honed her expertise by obtaining an LL.M. in International and European Law from Ghent University (Belgium) after receiving a Top-up Grant.
