Meri Makharashvili is a communications and donor engagement professional with 18 years of progressively responsible experience working with major local and international organizations within and outside Georgia, including Armenia, Azerbaijan, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Zimbabwe and Mozambique.
Meri has a track record of effective management in humanitarian and emergency affairs, transformational development, response management, grant acquisition, donor communication, and program development in Eastern Europe and Southern Africa.
She is an expert in developing and successfully implementing cause-driven communications strategies and action plans for donor organizations, state (government, parliament, local municipalities) and non-state institutions.
Meri has a track record of training communications and public relation specialists as well as leading large-scale public outreach campaigns in good governance, rule of law, human rights, civic engagement, legislative openness, economic recovery, agriculture, peace building, disaster risk reduction, child/youth protection and participation, gender equality, education and health (COVID-19 and vaccination, HIV/AIDs, Hepatitis-C, tuberculosis, nutrition).
